Masters

Team Sopris provides training for adult swimmers ages 18 & over through the Masters Program.  All skill levels are welcome.  Practices are offered four mornings per week.  Click HERE for more details!

Team Sopris is a year-round swim team that serves all levels of interested athletes.  We have a  highly trained coaching staff, who has been coaching competitive swimming for several years. We are registered with USA Swimming and Colorado Swimming Inc. and are members of the Western Slope League. We train at the Glenwood Springs Community Center and compete in swim meets throughout the state and region.

The Team Sopris program offers six practice levels: Discovery, Challenge 1, Challenge 2, CUDA, Junior, Senior.Team Sopris also offers a High School training group and a Masters swim program.  After joining the team, a youth swimmer will be evaluated by the coaching staff and placed in their appropriate practice group. Discovery is the beginning level of our program, and the proficiency of the swimmers increases at each level with corresponding increases in the practice time and intensity.

MISSION STATEMENT

Team Sopris offers a year-round swim program for anyone who lives in the Roaring Fork Valley and nearby communities from Vail to Rifle. The team exists to provide an opportunity for youth and adults to learn about and participate in competitive swimming. Our goal is for every swimmer to be prepared to compete to the maximum of his or her ability, and to have fun doing so.

What's New....

PRACTICE and TEAM UPDATES​​​

  • Play BINGO with TEAM SOPRIS.  Print your BINGO Card and get your results to Coach Steve (JR/SR/CUDA) or Coach Wyatt (CG& Disc) Final scores will be tabulated on Tuesday May 26th.

  •  

  • Team Sopris consent and waiver form.  Please print, sign and return to Coach Steve.

  • May 7th, Coach Wyatt will lead Zoom Dry land for Challenge Groups and the Discovery Group.  The link will be sent out weekly.

  • Zoom Dry land Team workouts continue.  If you are a Jr/Sr/CUDA swimmer, join us on Saturday mornings at 9:00 am and Wednesday afternoons at 4:00 pm. Zoom invites will be sent out.  Contact Coach Steve if you have questions.

  • Socially distanced Dry land for CUDA/JR/SR groups is underway.   Meet at 4:00 pm on the open space grass behind the pool and next to the ice rink.  Wear your mask, bring your yoga mat and your water bottle.

  • We are anticipating swim practices to start again in mid June. As we approach getting back into the water, families will be updated with the plan and a probable ZOOM meeting date to discuss the process and address concerns. 

  • Fees Suspended - Effective with April 2020 all monthly dues are being suspended.  Credit for time out of the water will be given to those families that paid fees for the entire season. These credits will be reflected in your 2020-2021 registration fees.

  • Once we are back in the water, a plan will be formulated and families will be notified with details.  

  • Email Coach Steve with questions.
