POOL CLOSURE-Feb 17th-26th
Team Sopris has recently received the following communication;

"Through leak detection and geotechnical investigations, the City of Glenwood Springs has determined that the Community Center pool facilities have one or more leaks. We will be conducting further investigations in the short-term, which will require a temporary closure of the aquatics facilities from February 17 to February 26. We are asking that questions be directed to the City Manager's Office."

This unexpected closure effects our members, especially those qualifying for one of the three state meets. We feel we have no alternative but to cancel practice February 17th - 24th, and resume practice on Monday February 27th.

As there is no school for RE1 students, the Community Center has agreed to let us practice on Friday, February 17th from 7:30 - 8:30 am.  This practice will be open to all groups.

Feb 20 - 23 we will hold practice at the Hot Springs pool for those team members attending Silver State or the Age Group State Championships. Coach Steve will communicate directly with these families.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Coach Steve.

Team Sopris is a year-round swim team that serves all levels of interested athletes.  We have a  highly trained coaching staff, who has been coaching competitive swimming for several years, Steve Vanderhoof and his team. We are registered with USA Swimming and Colorado Swimming Inc. and are members of the Western Slope League. We train at the Glenwood Springs Community Center and compete in swim meets throughout the state and region.

Team Sopris offers a year-round swim program for anyone who lives in the Roaring Fork Valley and nearby communities from Vail to Rifle. The team exists to provide an opportunity for youth and adults to learn about and participate in competitive swimming.  Our goal is for every swimmer to be prepared to compete to the maximum of his or her ability, and to have fun doing so.

The Team Sopris program offers three practice levels: Developmental, Age Group and Junior/Senior.  On joining the team, your swimmer will be evaluated by th coaching staff and placed in his/her appropriate practice group.  Developmental is the beginning level of our program, and the proficiency of the swimmers increases at each level with corresponding increases in the practice time and intensity.
